The fourth collaboration between Cirque Éloize iD and Funemployed Chicago results in another short, yet always hilarious video. This time around, we show how getting to work can tie iD’s contortionist Emi Vauthey in knots. A great way to avoid the morning hustle!

Born in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1992, Emi Vauthey has always loved the circus arts. She practiced them as a hobby until, at age 5, she started gymnastics. Very quickly, her talent took her to the international level and she competed in Russia and Germany and took the championship in Switzerland. At age seven, while continuing her career in gymnastics, she moved into circus training and chose to practice contortion and aerial hoop. When it came time to choose a field of study, she opted to invest even more deeply in her circus training, and in 2008 she entered the Atelier Rudra Béjart in Switzerland. From 2008 to 2010, she honed her dance talent while training - in some cases self-teaching - in skills such as aerial silks. In the spring of 2010, she auditioned for Cirque Éloize in Berlin and the head coach Krzysztof Soroczynski noticed her. She was invited to Montréal for a second audition with Jeannot Painchaud, who was also charmed by the young artist. After that, Cirque Éloize offered her a first professional contract with the troupe’s new creation, iD.
iD is a production of Théâtre T & Cie.
